Mashtun

It’s always a pleasure to review a SMWS bottling and this one was no exception. On the nose we got bounty bars, macaroons, meths, cakeshops, and mint leaves steaming on hot potatoes. The palate had fudge, vanilla, malt, caramel, and coconut. The finish was short but really full, deep, and sweet. Letting the whisky breathe really lengthened the finish and brought out coconut and vegetable notes. When adding water we found it smoothened the finish and brought out a subtle hint of peshwari nan. We all really enjoyed this dram and feel it would brighten up anyone’s day – a real crowd pleaser!
