Mashtun notes:

On the nose we got sherry, caramel, toffee, molasses, leather, and oak. The palate isn’t as sweet as the nose is still sweet and spicy with sticky toffee pudding, malt, and aniseed. The finish is surprisingly short, tangy, spicy, and has a hint of salt at the end. This whisky has a beautiful rusty red colour and dense and creamy full-bodied texture. Air doesn’t do much for this but a tiny amount of water really gets this dram going. Adding a ‘tear-drop’ of water brings out caramel and toffee on the nose, sweet liquorice and orange peel on the palate, and spices up the finish. It also lengthens and smoothes the finish. This dram really gets your brain working with your taste buds! It did border on being too sherried, but luckily it wasn’t – a perfect after dinner dram.

Overall Mash Tun Score = 70/100

71/100 – A tiny bit of water really brings this intensely sherried whisky to life. It bordered on being too sherried but luckily it wasn’t – a must try for anyone that likes a sherried dram.
