Mashtun notes:

On the nose we got toffee, mulled wine, spices, cloves, cocoa, and orange. The palate on this dram had thick warm orange notes mixed with pepper and spices. It also had dark fruits and was pleasantly bitter / tangy. The finish was medium in length with orange notes and a ‘lite’ saltiness at the end. The colour was amber the texture was thick and smooth. Letting this dram breath mellows the nose and brings out grassy notes on the nose. Adding water sweetened the nose, bought out floral notes on the palate, and spiced up the finish with hints of salt and white pepper.

This is an intriguing dram from Cadenheads that grows on you the more you drink it. It makes you want to slow down and savour the moment. It has a fair bit going on for a 23 year old but not so much as to spoil the dram. We wanted this to be a good one and it was – well done Aberlour and Cadenheads!

Overall MashTun Score = 76/100
