Mashtun notes:

The nose on this dram has slightly medicinal peat notes. It also has a hint of homemade tablet and seaweed. The palate is also slightly medicinal but sherry covered fruitcake, smoke, and salt take the lead. This has a lovely fruity peaty finish that lingers beautifully before ending on a nice salty note. The whisky has a fantastic golden colour and a creamy smooth texture. Air mellowed the nose a little but didn’t do too much else. Adding a little water to this whisky does zing it up though. It brings out sea-spray, fruits, and sherry, while slightly dulling the peaty notes.

Yet again this is a fantastic sherried Bowmore from the SMWS. It’s right up our street and a perfect winter warmer. A nice one to drink in front of a roaring fire!

Overall MashTun Score = 78/100
