Mashtun notes:

We should maybe review more standard releases so with that in mind we decided to taste the standard release 10 year old Edradour. The nose was rich and full bodied with toffee apples, highland toffee, nugget, hazelnuts, hints of polish, and light citrus notes. The palate had a lemon kick with spices, light citrus and floral notes, with fruit and nut bars thrown in for good measure! The finish was short, fruity, zesty, and had a little chocolate bust at the end. The colour was golden and it had a light and soft texture. Air doesn’t do a lot to this dram and a tiny amount of water added butter notes to the nose and fruit notes to the palate.

Overall this is a nice wee dram to that would be great to sip in the sun on a summers evening. It’s not that complex and the nose promises a bit more than the palate delivers, but we all enjoyed drinking it.

Edradour 10 yr old

A variety of whiskies are available from the distillery. Only the Edradour 10-year is chill filtered, a process by which the esters and oils are removed to produce a cleaner looking whisky. The 10 year old is Edradour’s standard release.
